Wrapping up 2025: partners meet to plan the next steps for Women in Construction

Wrapping up 2025: partners meet to plan the next steps for Women in Construction

On 9 December, our project partners gathered online for the last coordination meeting of 2025 to look back on what we achieved this year and to prepare for an active period ahead. Although this was one of our regular monthly meetings, it played an important role in closing the year with a shared plan for 2026.

The meeting opened with a short recap of our recent work before moving into several practical updates.

Website and Wall of Support

Our Wall of Support is now fully functional, and we are preparing a wider outreach campaign for spring 2026. We also reviewed new articles, social media plans, and upcoming improvements to the website – including the future integration of online learning modules.

Curriculum development

Partners shared news from their local activities, including feedback from schools and training centres already testing elements of the project. We also discussed how the curriculum will be finalised, peer-reviewed, and translated so that it can be used effectively across all partner countries.

Preparing for the training in Ireland (May 2026)

A key part of the meeting focused on planning our international training event in Ireland. Partners reviewed the proposed dates, discussed travel and accommodation options, and shared information about the types of participants they intend to send. This early coordination ensures the training will be practical, balanced, and well-organised.

Transparent and well-organised administration

To keep the project running smoothly and transparently, partners discussed how we will handle all administrative tasks as we enter the final project year. This included agreeing on clear deadlines for submitting timesheets, using shared templates for documentation, and ensuring all financial records are complete and easy to verify. The team also reviewed preparations for the upcoming periodic report, confirming that all partners will follow the same standards and upload documents to shared folders so everything remains open, traceable, and compliant with EU requirements.

Next steps

Partners shared final updates, identified where additional support may be needed, and agreed on the immediate priorities. Our next meeting will take place on 8 January 2026, where we will continue preparing the training programme, finalising the curriculum, and strengthening our communication activities.

As we close the year, the consortium remains committed to supporting women’s skills, opportunities, and visibility in the construction sector through coordinated action across all partner countries.

Successful Kick-Off Meeting Launched the Erasmus+ Project “SocEntYwD”

Successful Kick-Off Meeting Launched the Erasmus+ Project “SocEntYwD”

The partner consortium of the Erasmus+ project Capacity Building in Youth Work for Social Entrepreneurship of Youngsters with Disabilities (SocEntYwD) held its official kick-off meeting on 8–9 December 2025. Organised online via Zoom, the two-day meeting brought together representatives of Savez gluhih i nagluhih Grada Zagreba (Croatia), Building the Balkans (Kosovo), Centar za neformalno obrazovanje i celoživotno učenje – CNELL (Serbia), and Udruženje Okret/Spin (Bosnia and Herzegovina). The meeting served as the formal start of a joint effort to empower youth workers and promote social entrepreneurship among young people with disabilities.

Establishing a strong foundation for project implementation

The first day focused on creating a shared understanding of the project’s vision, objectives, and structure. The project coordinator opened the meeting with a comprehensive introduction, after which all partners presented their organisational roles and expected contributions. A detailed overview of the project’s work packages, monitoring plan, timeline, and management structure ensured that each partner gained clarity on responsibilities, deadlines, and interdependencies between activities.

Partners jointly reviewed the monitoring plan – consisting of a Gantt chart, activity plan, and budget – and agreed on adhering to the proposed timeline, with minor adjustments made to improve efficiency. The day continued with planning of the communication framework and agreement that email would serve as the primary communication channel, supported by Zoom meetings when needed. The consortium also initiated the development of an internal “Partnership Action Plan for Project Execution,” a key document outlining procedures, protocols, and shared expectations for the full project cycle.

The agenda for Day 1, including discussions on project overview, roles, objectives, work package planning, communication structures, monitoring, and the partnership action plan, followed the structure defined in the meeting agenda.

Shaping dissemination, visual identity, and Work Package 2

Day two began with a recap of the previous day’s agreements and continued with a structured discussion on project dissemination. The consortium co-created the dissemination plan, defining communication objectives, channels, mandatory visibility requirements, and the sequence of dissemination activities. The first milestone in dissemination will be the development of a unified visual identity, led by CNELL, to be finalised in early 2026. Once completed, the consortium will begin developing the project’s online Resource Hub.

Partners also agreed that Building the Balkans will lead the creation and management of the project’s TikTok strategy, supporting visibility and outreach through innovative youth-friendly methods, including six online campaigns planned throughout the project.

A significant portion of Day 2 was dedicated to Work Package 2 (Capacity Development of Partners), which includes four key activities:

  1. Curriculum development for youth workers, led by CNELL and BtB. A draft curriculum structure will be prepared and shared for feedback, with finalisation expected by March 2026.
  2. Development and piloting of an online course, led by Spin, to run in parallel with curriculum creation and supported by early sharing of content frameworks.
  3. Creation of TikTok videos promoting social entrepreneurship among youth with disabilities, led by SGINGZ, featuring Croatian Sign Language with subtitles in Croatian and English.
  4. Local training visits to Western Balkan partners, planned for August–September 2026.

These activities were thoroughly discussed in line with the Day 2 agenda, which focused on dissemination planning, WP2, curriculum development, online course planning, TikTok video production, and mobility preparation.

Clear roadmap and strong partnership

The meeting concluded with a joint review of decisions, timelines, and next steps. All partners emphasised the importance of timely implementation, continuous communication, and maintaining high-quality standards across activities. The collaborative spirit demonstrated throughout the two days positioned the consortium for a successful and impactful project lifecycle.

With strong coordination, clearly defined responsibilities, and a shared vision, the SocEntYwD partnership enters the next phase fully prepared to begin developing innovative tools, capacity-building activities, and visibility actions that will support youth workers and young people with disabilities in exploring social entrepreneurship as a meaningful pathway to empowerment and inclusion.

Ciljevi i tematski fokus

Program obuhvata teme prevencije nasilja, ravnopravnosti spolova, prevencije zloupotrebe droga, alkohola i psihoaktivnih supstanci, kao i promovisanje zdravih životnih stilova među mladima.
Kroz interaktivne radionice i školske aktivnosti, učenici/e, profesori/ce i nastavnici/ce će zajedno učiti kako prepoznati i prevenirati rizična ponašanja, te kako razvijati empatiju, komunikacijske vještine i odgovorno donošenje odluka.

Ova partnerstva doprinose stvaranju sigurnog i podržavajućeg školskog okruženja, u kojem mladi mogu razvijati svoje potencijale, zdrave vrijednosti i aktivno doprinositi pozitivnim promjenama u zajednici.

Empowering Youth Workers through Digital Competence: Training Course in Zadar

Empowering Youth Workers through Digital Competence: Training Course in Zadar

From September 9–17, 2025, representatives of six partner organizations from Germany, Croatia, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Albania gathered in Zadar for the international training course “Developing Digital Competences of Young People Based on the DigComp Framework.”

Organized under the Erasmus+ KA153-YOU program, the training brought together youth workers to explore how digital skills can be used as tools for empowerment, inclusion, and active participation of young people—especially those with fewer opportunities.

Throughout the nine intensive days, participants worked through interactive workshops and simulations, learning to apply the European DigComp framework in real youth work practice. Sessions covered the five areas of digital competence—information literacy, communication and collaboration, digital content creation, safety, and problem-solving—using hands-on, non-formal education methods such as group work, role plays, and reflection circles.

Evenings were dedicated to intercultural activities, NGO fairs, and informal networking moments that highlighted the diversity and shared values of the participants.

The training course marked an important step in building a transnational community of digitally competent youth workers ready to transfer these skills into their local realities. As a next step, participants will conduct follow-up workshops in their home countries, sharing the newly gained knowledge with other youth leaders and young people, multiplying the project’s impact across Europe and the Western Balkans.

The DigComp YW project is coordinated by Stepping Stone Miles e.V. (Germany) with partners from Croatia, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Albania, and co-funded by the European Union through Erasmus+.

MY PEACE international youth training in Bordeaux, France

MY PEACE international youth training in Bordeaux, France

From 15th to 20th of September 2025, Spin had the pleasure of participating in the MY PEACE International Youth Training in Bordeaux, France, as part of the EU-funded project MY PEACE – Music of Youth: A Peace-Building Approach. This inspiring four-day training brought together young people and educators from across Europe, including Ireland, Germany, France, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Ukraine, to explore how music can serve as a tool for peacebuilding and civic engagement.

Hosted at Le Rocher de Palmer by our French partners Le LABA and Musiques de Nuit, the training offered an engaging blend of workshops, lectures, and musical activities. Participants reflected on the role of youth in peacebuilding, learning from presentations by organizations such as SOS MEDITERRANEE FranceLa Maison Ukrainienne, and Palestinian musicians. Cultural excursions, including visits to Bordeaux museums and city tours exploring its historical connection to the transatlantic slave trade, provided additional context on the enduring impact of past conflicts.

Spin was directly responsible for facilitating workshops that encouraged participants to connect these insights with their personal experiences. The program also featured percussion and songwriting sessions coordinated by our partners Musiclab (Germany), culminating in a collaborative performance by all attendees. At the end of the training, participants received EU Youthpass certificates, acknowledging their newly acquired competencies in peacebuilding, civic participation, and creative collaboration.

This international training is part of Work Package 4 (WP4) of the MY PEACE project, which aims to create a digital repository and portal for youth educators and participants. The portal will feature learning materials, exercises, videos, and other content from the training, enabling continued peer-to-peer learning and networking across Europe.

With the feedback collected during the training, the MY PEACE consortium is now finalizing the project resources. These will soon be available for free on the official project website: www.mypeaceproject.eu.

Spin is proud to contribute to this innovative initiative that empowers youth, strengthens intercultural dialogue, and demonstrates the power of music as a tool for social change. Stay tuned to our social media channels for updates and highlights from the project.

BalsiKa is a youth orchestra project that brings together young musicians from across Europe to learn and perform traditional music by ear. It started in Bosnia and Herzegovina as a way to promote peace, cultural exchange, and equality through music.

How it started?

It all started as an idea of a French guitarist Jean Claude who went on an enlightening journey through central Africa for a few years. There he discovered something in music that was not taught in any conservatory or music academy he attended, listening and learning by ear, transmitting the music through the people rather than through paper. He fell in love with this concept and when returning back to Europe he found a music branch which actually roots itself in the same principles throughout the world and truly embodies the universality of music as a human language- traditional music. He dreamed of uniting Europe through sound, celebrating differences and learning about each other. He was quite struck by the devastating war of Yugoslavia in the 90s and had a wish for this music revolution to start right there, in the middle of the post conflict zone, bringing art and peace. ”What about Bosnia and Herzegovina as a starting point?” he said. And that is how our story started.

What is BalsiKa?

BalsiKa is a mix of three words, Balkan, Alsace and orchestra. The name represents the regions from which the first participants of this big project came from. After arriving in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jean Claude and his partner Perrette met with a revolutionary guitar professor Nedim Tinjić who took the project as an incredible idea for building the future of the Blakans. Many youth exchanges later, in Strasbourg, Paris, Tuzla, Sarajevo, Kotor and so many more, something incredible was born! A transeuropean orchestra of traditional music, the dream came true! Nowadays two orchestras function on a weekly basis as a continuation of this project, one in Strasbourg and one in Tuzla, although the one in France was first called PapyrosN and now Ballade, and the one in Bosnia and Herzegovina is still called BalsiKa, whole heartedly honoring the movement that created a big influx of culture and art in Tuzla region.

Basic principles

There are a few main columns on which the roof of this project stands:

  • transmission of traditional music from the source
  • transmission of music by ear
  • peer to peer methodology
  • no first nor last musician, everyone on the stage is equal.

What was born from these principles are friendship, mutual respect, intercultural dialogue, love and so much knowledge, both musical and cultural. All of this was achieved organically and just following the logic that music truly is this universal language connecting us all, where words stop music commences but where the world stops, music is a strong enough force to keep it spinning.

Today and the future

After more than fifteen years there has rarely been a missed rehearsal for orchestra BalsiKa in Tuzla, more and more projects are born and created, more and more young people are joining to share and learn traditional music from all over the world. The older generations, now in their twenties, are constantly travelling and bringing back traditional pieces for the orchestra to play. Our leader Nedim and Jean Claude are also very active, although many young educators joined the team!

Many youth exchanges are still organized with our partner: association Ballade from Strasbourg. When it comes to orchestra BalsiKa in Tuzla, we do not intend to ever stop, maybe soon we just might have to find more rooms for the rehearsals since the number of musicians is rising to be over one hundred. What is in front of us? Well probably many more projects, friendships, travels, laughter and more than all MUSIC.
