International Multiplier Conference in Skopje, North Macedonia

Spin was part of the International Multiplier Conference organized by Youth Council Next Generation Skopje, on March 14 and 15, 2024, in Mladinski Centar Skopje (Maticno), presenting an important step toward sustainable development and innovation.  The event was a part of the 2-year Erasmus+ KA2 project “Eco-Entrepreneurship & Circular Economy: On the Path to Sustainable Change” and it was co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.

About 70 young people, high school and university students, team members, and guest speakers from non-governmental organizations and eco-entrepreneurships attended the conference. The event brought together ideas and participants from North Macedonia, Cyprus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Serbia, and Montenegro.

The agenda was comprehensive and highlighted project results. Youth Exchange outcomes, a Study Visit, Meetings, and a new Board Game on eco-entrepreneurship and circular economy practices were highlighted. This conference shared information and experiences and showed youth commitment to sustainable change. Youth participation in critical discussions helps create a future where sustainable practices are not just imagined but implemented with success.

I decided to take part in the conference because I had a chance to previously attend youth exchange activity in the same project. For that reason, this conference was a great opportunity for me to see everything that was achieved in the last 2 years and to share my personal experiences and everything I have learned so far. I also managed to see some of the other participants I previously met, so it was great to speak and spend time with them again. I also shared results from this conference with other friends in my local community who never took part in any of the Erasmus+ projects.

This conference and project in general showed me that there is still hope for young people in the WB region and that they have huge motivation to make changes and create sustainable enterprises in their local communities. For me, participating in the Erasmus+ projects always bring joy and great opportunity to meet new people, see new places and create unforgettable experiences.

I decided to be part of the conference as it looked like a good opportunity for my further personal and professional development. Attending such international activities, where young people from many different cultures and countries are present, presents a great source for learning about new methodologies, positive practices, sharing experiences and promotion of non-formal learning.

However, apart from attending educational activities, I enjoyed the most spending time with other participants and learning directly from them. For this reason, I would strongly encourage all young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina to take advantage of such opportunities, leave their comfort zone, and grab the opportunities that are being offered to them.
