Training Course Description

This training course offers youth workers, educators, youth leaders and volunteers the opportunity to strengthen their competences for integrating environmental sustainability into everyday youth work. Climate change, environmental degradation and the shift towards more sustainable ways of living increasingly shape the lives and futures of young people, and many youth workers want to address these topics but lack practical methodologies and structured frameworks to do so. Green Future responds to this need by introducing participants to GreenComp, the European Sustainability Competence Framework, and exploring how it can be applied in real youth work settings.

The training will gather youth workers from Austria, Croatia, Germany, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro in an international learning environment where participants exchange experiences and jointly develop approaches to sustainability education. Throughout the course, participants will explore the four competence areas of GreenComp: embodying sustainability values, embracing complexity in sustainability, envisioning sustainable futures, and acting for sustainability.

The programme is based on non-formal education and experiential learning rather than theoretical input, combining interactive workshops, simulations, group work, project-based learning, creative activities and outdoor methods. Special attention is given to translating these competences into practical youth work methods, with a strong focus on inclusion and on young people with fewer opportunities.

Following the training course, participants are expected to design and deliver follow-up workshops in their local communities, transferring what they learned and multiplying its impact among young people and other youth workers. The training concludes with evaluation, reflection and the Youthpass ceremony.

Profile of Participants

• At least 18 years old (no upper age limit)
• Residents in Bosnia and Herzegovina
• Active as youth workers, educators, trainers or volunteers in youth work
• Motivated to integrate environmental sustainability and the GreenComp framework into their work and to multiply the knowledge locally after the training
• Able to attend the entire training course and to implement follow-up activities in their community
• Good command of English

Travel and Accommodation

Travel costs in the maximum amount of 285 EUR (*for green travel) will be covered by SPIN.
Accommodation is covered by the organisers, including full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and coffee breaks.
